N Brown is a top 10 clothing and footwear digital retailer.

Operating as a size inclusive business, focusing on the needs of the underserved customer groups – size 20+ and age 50+. Its Womenswear brands are JD Williams, Simply Be and Ambrose Wilson and its Menswear brand is Jacamo.

Client requirement/need

N Brown wanted to consolidate the amount of suppliers on their roster, therefore, needed a reliable mailing house to complement their digital-first strategy. Additionally, they favoured a supplier who could offer innovative solutions to help them achieve a higher ROI.

Our solution

Due to our 140,000 sq. ft. factory – with an ever-expanding list of equipment – we are able to offer N Brown a diverse mix of direct marketing services, including: digital print, lithographic print, fulfilment and returns management, all of which start their journey in the Data Services department. As the name suggests, Data Services is responsible for securely receiving data from N Brown by SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) and mailsorting all direct mail jobs. Additionally, data can be used for reactive request campaigns, which we process and send out to the customer in a timely manner, while the brand/product is still fresh in their mind.

We digitally print weekly postcard ‘trigger’ mailings containing incentivised offers. Different versions of artwork and data are merged into one mailing, meaning they qualify for Royal Mail’s Mailmark® discount.

In addition, we are able to offer N Brown the opportunity to have their marketing materials litho printed, providing excellent image quality for generic, large-volume mailers. Furthermore, we oversee pre-printed materials that are supplied into us from other sources and inkjet the addressing information onto the products.

We then fulfil the printed collateral in three different ways: envelope enclosing, polywrap enclosing and hand fulfilment. Our range of industry-leading equipment allows us to provide ample capacity to fulfil our client’s mailings, managing large volumes with ease.

Branded envelopes are often used by N Brown for mailings to their VIP Customers to help them ‘Stand out from the Crowd’, increasing their open rates and generating brand awareness. Using coloured envelopes can help to improve brand awareness by up to 80% and 55% of people are more likely to pick up full-coloured pieces of mail first (Xerox, 2017).

N Brown’s loyalty programmes, such as Simply Be Perks, often reward those signed up with freebies, such as: lipsticks, make-up bags and candles. These items cannot be packed by a machine, therefore, our hand pack department routinely complete these requests. This allows us to produce bespoke, promotional packs that help build brand loyalty. So, no matter what the fulfilment need is, we can pack it with ease.
