The festive season is well underway.

It can often be hard to find the time to fit everything in at this time of year.

However, MetroMail a Seaham based mailing house, brought Christmas shopping to the workplace.

Last week the direct mail specialists held a Christmas Fayre for all staff to enjoy! A range of local businesses were invited to sell their products benefiting the local economy as well as employees. Proceeds from the raffle tickets went to their charity partner ‘The Silver Line’, raising £95 for the cause.

Gemma Garbutt, organised the event stating: ‘the day was a great success! Everyone enjoyed themselves and we even had a surprise visit from Santa’.

The festive themed day gave employees a break from their usual routine as well as giving them the opportunity to stock up on some goodies.

MetroMail have made it their responsibility to make the working environment the best it can be.

There was a Christmas decoration competition at the start of the month, with the best department winning a prize. All employees received an advent calendar and thank you card on the 1st of December thanking them for their hard work throughout the year. As well as this, employees received a 3 course Christmas dinner at work. They have also held a competition for Christmas Jumper day, encouraging staff to ‘get silly for a serious cause’. Staff have also organised a collection for a local women’s refuge to help those less fortune at Christmas time.

The company believe that it is their corporate social responsibility to give something back to the local community and make employees feel are valued and appreciated.

This year MetroMail have also launched their Christmas mailing campaign, sending cards and gifts to customers, suppliers and prospects. The campaign has been a great opportunity to showcase their rebrand and remind people of MetroMail’s capabilities and services.
